Landed

FAQ

Common admin questions about setup, workflows, integrations, and support.

Product basics

What does Landed do?

Landed centralizes conversations from the widget and connected sources so you can triage, prioritize, and turn them into sourced requests and issues.

Who are these docs for?

These docs are for workspace admins operating setup, triage, and integrations.

What is the difference between admin and customer?

  • Admin: manages workspace settings, integrations, and issue decisions.
  • Customer: provides feedback through connected channels.

Setup and access

Can I start with one integration?

Yes. Start with one source, validate quality, then expand gradually.

Can multiple teammates manage the same workspace?

Yes. You can invite multiple admins.

Do I need a complex setup before using it?

No. After signup, onboarding sets up your workspace from your website and guides each channel you choose. You can enter your workspace before every installation is verified and finish the rest later from Onboarding in the workspace menu.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. 14-day free trial. No credit card required. Your trial starts when you finish onboarding. See free trial and billing.

What happens when my trial ends?

Incoming messages keep arriving and your saved data and setup stay available. Replies, new requests and issues, imports, and live bot actions pause until you choose a plan in Settings → Billing. Landed doesn't automatically reply to messages that arrived in the meantime.

What should I verify after first setup?

Confirm the conversation appears in Inbox, customer-visible messages are readable, and at least one sourced request can be created when the ask is actionable.

Integrations

How do email channels work?

Customers write to a hosted address on m.landed.so or a custom workspace address you connect. Replies go out from that same address, with the admin’s name as the visible sender. See email channels.

Do I need DNS for the first email channel?

No. A hosted email channel activates as soon as you create it. Custom addresses need mailbox redirect and outbound DNS before they become Active.

Are email signatures required?

No. A signature is optional. When you save one on an email channel, it is inserted into the composer as editable text.

Will Landed hide out-of-office or automated email?

No. Those messages are kept. A bot doesn't answer auto-replies, bounces, or out-of-office email. When a bot could have answered one, the conversation shows the reason followed by Bot didn't answer:

  • Auto-reply or notification: the email says an automatic process sent it, such as an out-of-office reply or a notification.
  • Bulk mail or auto-reply: the sender marked the email as bulk, junk, or an auto-reply.
  • Delivery report: a bounce, delivery notice, or read receipt.
  • No return address: the email has no return address, which bounces and system mail use.

A bot still answers people who write through a mailing list such as Google Groups, or from Outlook and Exchange.

Use Mark as spam when you want to close a thread as spam.

Can I sync issues with Linear?

Yes. Use Linear integration to sync Landed issue execution status with Linear.

Where do I debug email channel or Linear issues?

Use email channel troubleshooting or Linear troubleshooting.

Feedback processing

Can one message create multiple insights?

Yes. A single message can contain several actionable points.

Can repeated requests strengthen an issue?

Yes. Similar feedback can be linked to the same product work so demand is clearer.

What if feedback is unclear?

Refine it during triage, request more context, or mark it as not actionable.

Public docs AI

Is docs AI connected to private workspace data?

No. The docs assistant is limited to public documentation content.

Is docs chat history saved?

The public docs assistant is designed to be stateless in phase 1.

Operations

What should I monitor after launch?

  • feedback ingestion health
  • triage turnaround time
  • ambiguous feedback rate
  • integration error rate

Where is the day-to-day process?

Use workflows and triage and prioritization.
